JOB SPECIFICATIONS

The Courtesy Patrol Guard is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of designated properties by patrolling parking lots and surface lots
and monitoring premises, providing excellent customer service, and acting as a visible deterrent to crime. 

Interface with employees, students, and parents crossing streets to
maintain safety and security measures for the general community.  handles potential threats to school campus.  Works under general supervision of Facilities Manager St. Philip’s School and Community Center for violations and initiates appropriate action to ensure compliance as established. 

This role involves maintaining a courteous demeanor, assisting residents and visitors, and upholding the standards and Core Values of our organization.  Duties will require working outdoors under a variety of weather conditions.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  •  High School diploma or equivalency
  • Minimum age requirement is eighteen (18) years of age 
  • Must have the ability to communicate in English (verbally and written)
  • Must have a valid Texas Class C driver's license and valid automobile insurance
  • All applicants must be willing to submit to a complete criminal history background check including fingerprinting and social security number verification.

DESIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES

- Proven experience in security, customer service, or a similar role preferred.

- Strong observational skills and the ability to identify potential safety concerns.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

- Ability to maintain a professional demeanor in various situations and interactions.

- Basic knowledge of security systems and emergency response procedures is an advantage.

- Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

- Conduct regular patrols of assigned areas, including on foot and in a vehicle, to ensure a safe and secure environment.
- Monitor entrances, exits, and suspicious activities while maintaining a visible presence.
- Respond promptly and professionally to incidents, emergencies, or disturbances and take appropriate action or escalate as necessary.
- Provide assistance and information to residents, guests, and employees in a friendly and professional manner.
- Enforce property rules and regulations while maintaining a positive rapport with community members.
- Document and report any incidents, observations, or maintenance issues accurately and timely.
- Collaborate with local law enforcement and emergency services when necessary.
- Participate in regular training and development sessions to stay updated on security protocols and customer service practices.
- Assist in organizing and executing safety events and community outreach programs as needed.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

- Ability to stand, walk, or patrol for extended periods.

- Ability to respond to emergencies, including physical restraint if necessary.

- Must be able to lift or carry items up to 50 pounds.

- Ability to withstand moderately extreme temperatures and weather conditions
