Hours: Part-time (Variable shifts based on school programming
8am to 8pm)

Position
The position of After School Care Instructor is in the Community Center Department and reports to the Community Center Program Coordinator. This position is temporary, for the remaining duration of the school year. This position is part-time, Mondays – Fridays 6:00 a.m. – 8:30 a.m.
Job Summary: The primary purpose of the After School Care instructor is to provide daily instruction and activities to students who remain at St. Philip’s after the school day is over.
Required Education & Experience:
HS Diploma or equivalent
Experience working with school age children in educational program or ministry setting.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Provide daily instruction to After School Students and assist with all lessons and extracurricular activities as needed.
- Provide sign in sheets to teachers and keep daily attendance.
- Turn in weekly lesson plans to and any other forms as instructed by Community Center Program Coordinator.
- Work with other instructors to ensure smooth delivery of instruction.
- Communicate daily with Community Center Program Coordinator regarding the status of the program.
- Positively interact and serve as a liaison for parents and teachers.
- Adjust rooms and schedules, when necessary, after conferring with Community Center Program Coordinator
- Provide information to the receptionist and Community Center Program Coordinator if changes occur in the program.
- Provide discipline and effective classroom management for participants; consult with students and their parents who demonstrate negative behavior consistently in the program.
- Inform coordinator of supply needs when necessary for the program
- Work closely with St. Philip’s teachers and administrative staff for the program’s success.
- Submit timesheets on the 8th and 24th of each month to the Community Center Program Coordinator.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
- Normally standing or walking at will.
- Extended periods of standing may be required.
- Normal physical activity includes some bending, pushing, pulling, and lifting and carrying, which may range up to 45 lbs. upon occasion.
